Dr. Puglisi has been a Clinical Pharmacist for the last 21 years (Hospice Pharmacia and now with VITAS Healthcare) specializing in chronic medication management of palliative care and hospice patients. Dr. Puglisi consistently challenges current pharmacotherapy guidelines with innovation to optimize clinical pharmacology and patient compliance of medication with the goal of best case clinical outcome. Dr. Puglisi’s innovational thinking has led to USPTO issued patent 11,808,708, METHOD FOR MAINTAINING THE HEALTH OF A DIABETIC PATIENT BY PREVENTING THE OCCURRENCE OF DIABETIC KETOACIDOSIS. Dr. Puglisi was elected into the RHO CHI Honor Society School of Pharmacy Dean’s list and received his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree in 2002 from Temple University School of Pharmacy. 

Tom Meitz, DC., Inventor, Chiropractor, COO

Dr. Tom Meitz is a chiropractor who was licensed in 2004 and has been in his private practice, Meitz Family Chiropractic LLC., since 2010.  In practice, Dr. Meitz specializes in family care along with nutrition.  He is also the owner of Club Palm Beach Massage.  In 2018 Dr. Meitz and his partner created the KIIT program that teaches people how to follow a ketogenic diet plan along with the importance of ketone testing and intermittent fasting.  In 2023 Dr. Meitz co-authored USPTO issued patent 11,808,708, METHOD FOR MAINTAINING THE HEALTH OF A DIABETIC PATIENT BY PREVENTING THE OCCURRENCE OF DIABETIC KETOACIDOSIS.  In 2024 Dr. Meitz will have a co-authored abstract #1095 VALIDATION OF A NOVAL URINE TEST STRIP THAT MEASURES BETA-HYDROXYBUTYRATE presented at the Advanced Technologies& Treatments for Diabetes Conference in Florence, Italy.

Dr. Steve Edelman is not only a physician specializing in diabetes, he has also lived with T1D for over 50 years diagnosed at the age of 15. Based on his belief that the people living with diabetes should be the most knowledgeable about their condition, he founded Taking Control of Your Diabetes (TCOYD), a 501c3 organization in 1995. Along with being the founder and director of TCOYD, Dr. Edelman is also a professor of medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and the Veterans Affairs (VA) Healthcare System of San Diego. Throughout his career, Dr. Edelman has published over 220 articles and 5 books. Dr. Edelman was the valedictory of his medical school graduating class at UC Davis and has won numerous awards for teaching and humanitarianism including the ‘Diabetes Educator of The Year’ award by the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the ‘Distinction in Endocrinology’ award by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), and most recently Dr. Edelman was awarded the ‘2021 Lifetime Achievement Award’ from the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES). He is most proud of his two daughters, Talia and Carina.
